Here's how tap a step when it's done

1. 1To begin, use a marker to outline your 3" circle at the center of your bowl, then remove the 3" circle and center the 4" circle. As you outline the second circle, add a small connecting dot to mark out your 5 points. These will indicate your whisp anchors later, so make sure to place them on the top side of the line.
2. 2Now it's time to paint! Remove the 4" circle and find your medium flat brush. Apply 3 coats of 2335 to the centermost circle.
3. 3As that dries, grab your medium round brush and paint 3 layers of 2382 in the band created between the first and second circles in Step 1. Before covering those 5 points, use your marker to gently place corresponding dots on the band you just painted.
4. 4In order to give it time to dry, we'll now move to the outside of your bowl. With your fan brush, apply 2 layers of 2365 from foot to rim. This is the base for your sgraffito.
5. 5With a clean fan brush, return to the inside of your bowl, and paint 3 coats of 2315 from the top of the band to the rim.
6. 6Get ready to use those marker dots! Employing a writer bottle filled with 2382, draw a diagonal line from the dot at about 45 degrees to the left until you get both halfway to the other mark and halfway to the rim. Curl the line into a counter-clockwise spiral. Repeat this step for all 5 points.
7. 7Still with the writer bottle of 2382, come back to the anchor points. Draw an adjacent line to the right of your previous line, half as tall and gently curving away to the right, ending clockwise in a half circle. Repeat for all 5 anchors.
8. 8The last need for your writer bottle will be placing dots along your lines. The left side of the left line will need 4 ascending dots, and the right side of the right line will need 1 dot within the shelter of the half circle.
9. 9We can't just leave the rim bare, so with your medium flat brush, deploy 2382 one last time to make 3 coats along the top of the rim.
10. 10The rest of our time will be spent on the outside of the bowl. Take a clean fan brush and paint 2 even layers of 2314 from foot to rim, trying to keep the rim line as clean as possible.
11. 11The sgraffito spirals should somewhat tie in with the interior whisps, and the next step is somewhat time-sensitive. To help with that, lightly pinch the space between your interior (left) spirals and the corresponding spot outside. Mark where your external finger is with a marker, repeating around the bowl.
12. 12Working between 1 section of external marker dots, use a fan brush to paint your third layer of 2314 from foot to rim. This step will repeat 4 more times after Step 14.
13. 13Once that layer is matte dry and still soft, take your angled sgraffito tool, and starting about a finger width from the rim, draw a clockwise spiral until you make 2 complete passes and end in the center. This should be etched firmly enough to remove the black paint, but gently enough not to scratch the bisque. Widen the mark you made to your discretion.
14. 14Repeat Steps 12 and 13 until you have 5 white spirals on the outside of your bowl.
