Prep your piece

• Before you get started, be sure there's no dust on your piece. A dry or suuuper damp sponge can help get any excess dust you find off.
• Next, use a water-based marker to draw a line around the foot (bottom) of the piece - this is the do not paint line. Anything glazed below that line will stick to our kiln shelves and ruin your work (sad for everyone).
• Lastly, be sure to let your glazes dry fully between coats. Otherwise, we might end up with issues during firing such as pinholing or crawling.

Here's how tap a step when it's done

1. 1Mix a wash of 2394 then pour it inside the vase, roll it around to cover the inside, and then pour out the excess.
2. 2Apply 3 coats of Speckled Buff Engobe on the bottom 1/3 of the piece.
3. 3Use the Sponge Ombre method to apply 2392, 2302, 2301, 2303, 2305, and 2376 on the top 2/3, let this slightly overlap the Speckled Buff Engobe.
4. 4Apply a thin layer of Micro Pearl in between the colors from Step Three.
5. 5Ask us how to sign your work then leave it with us for firing!
